And you have a place you can go to. That’s what we’re going to discuss here. There is no shortage of options.

Below we’re going to break down your treatment option for rehab in Seattle and in the rehab in King County.

How Many Treatment Centers Are in Seattle, Washington

The simple answer? A lot.

By one website’s count, there are at least 129 treatment options available to you.

Another website lists 92 treatment center options that range from the intense and the clinical to the more laid-back settings in lodges or on the sound.

This website lists 132 facilities. For sure, you can find the facility that fits your needs.

These facilities are everywhere. You may not realize it because some are in extremely nondescript locations like homes or buildings that simply don’t look like treatment centers. That’s done intentionally. There’s no reason why even passersby should know what you are doing simply by where you’re going. Privacy and discretion are possible in this process.

What Types of Treatment Centers Are in Seattle, Washington

Everyone’s situation is unique. But your substance use disorder is likely to fit into one of several treatment center options. It’s important to know the differences between them to get the right kind of help.

Before we get procedure-specific, let’s talk about two key definitions.

Inpatient v. Outpatient

Anything that is considered inpatient requires a medical procedure or treatment be done in a hospital or another facility for a certain amount of time without the option of leaving the facility. An off-beat example, a Cesarian section delivery is an inpatient procedure.

But in terms of addiction treatment, this means living somewhere where the entire focus is getting better. For the most committed efforts, some inpatient treatment centers will require patients to stay at that facility for six months.

Outpatient settings are ones where a treatment or a procedure is provided and the patient is able to leave the facility after the treatment to recover. Many can have intensive elements but require the patient to live elsewhere.

Now that we know about the basic types of settings, let’s get more specific.

Inpatient Treatment Centers

These centers are used to provide rehabilitation as well as detoxification. They are also the most medically intensive. They focus on using treatments that require day and night observation of medical and other care professionals.

On top of substance treatment, they often provide mental and psychological treatments as well. Drug use and mental health issues often go hand in hand and require additional attention.

Long-Term and Short-Term Residential Treatment

Long-term residential treatment centers are a type of inpatient facility. They are therapeutic communities in non-hospital settings. Often, the stay at these facilities lasts from 6 to 12 months. The treatment focuses on social and psychological deficits that seek to restructure a person’s coping with the world around them.

Short-term residential treatment centers often come with 3- to 6-week stints in hospital-based treatment settings. They are then followed up with outpatient treatment settings and/or individual or group therapy.

Outpatient Treatment Programs

There are great variety and intensity in the outpatient treatment world. It will take a little footwork to figure out exactly what’s right for you.

Intensive partial hospitalization or day treatment calls for people to attend treatment 4 to 20 hours a day in a hospital or free-standing clinic setting. They are for only those in supportive and stable home settings since these people are not interred in a clinical setting.

Opioid Treatment Programs

Also known as methadone clinics, named for the drug they sometimes provide, provide therapy on top of drugs used to treat opioid dependence. These drugs mimic or are forms of opioids that help people lessen their body’s dependence on the drug to function

What Programs Are Offered in Seattle, Washington

At certain points on the addiction recovery journal, programmatic assistance is what you need. Here are two of the basic types of programs you can expect to help with your drug rehab in King County, Washington.

Individualized Drug Counseling

This one is a bit self-explanatory. The focus is patient-specific. But generally, these individualize counseling services build plans around the very specific facet of your life. These include coping strategies, personal development plans, employment and education efforts.

Group Counseling

Group counseling is often present throughout all of the treatment settings and options we’ve discussed here. They are often twelve-step-based or some variation program. The best known of these include the various “Anonymous” groups — Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Marijuana Anonymous.

In alternative to the Twelve-Step programs, Self Management and Recovery Training, or SMART programs, reorient people to seeing addiction as a dysfunctional habit rather than a disease people are powerless over like in the Anonymous programs.
