Our Drug & Alcohol Treatment Programs in Garden Grove

At Northbound’s Garden Grove facility, we offer many levels of care to fit your unique needs on your recovery journey. Programs include detox, inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment. Patients should speak with an addiction treatment specialist to determine which program best fits their needs.

Medically Supervised Detox

Medical detox is the first step on the journey to recovery from an addiction. Alcohol and drug detox involves the use of medications to normalize neurochemical levels in the central nervous system (CNS) and help safely manage withdrawal symptoms.

This is why it’s important to be medically supervised during a detox. Medical professionals at our center can determine what medication suits your needs and what the proper dose of each should be.

A medical detox works to alleviate withdrawal symptoms from an alcohol or drug addiction and helps give your body the reboot it needs to achieve long-term recovery. During the critical detoxification process, our team of psychiatrists, doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are focused on the following:

  • Managing and eliminating any medically dangerous withdrawal symptoms
  • Reducing the physical discomfort associated with withdrawal
  • Medically managing any co-existing medical or emotional disorders.
  • Developing a long-term personalized treatment plan to empower patients with the support and skills necessary to enjoy lifelong abstinence from alcohol and drugs
Medically Supervised Detox

Our detoxification services prioritize comfort and safety during the withdrawal process. Successful completion of medically monitored drug and alcohol detox is the first step before transitioning to the next level of care, such as residential care or outpatient treatment.

This is necessary because one’s physical and mental health will be more stabilized and  withdrawal symptoms safely managed.

Northbound in Garden Grove, offers evidence-based intensive inpatient residential treatment programs for drug abuse. Our staff will create a personalized treatment plan that uses a wide variety of programs and services, such as individual and group therapy, life and skills training, holistic therapies, and therapeutic techniques.

Residential Treatment

Our inpatient drug rehab offers around-the-clock care. Patients can get help whenever they need it from one of our staff members. These treatment programs usually run from 28 to 90 days, which can be extended depending on the patient’s needs.

With an inpatient treatment program, patients will be staying overnight at our facility for the duration of their rehab. This allows them to focus solely on their recovery. Our inpatient detox clinic is meant to reduce outside stressors and triggers that often lead to relapse throughout the early stages of recovery.

Patients receive medical detox, behavioral therapy, and other alcohol and drug treatments here at Northbound. During treatment, our highly trained, multidisciplinary treatment team addresses the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of addiction and mental health recovery to help ensure long-term success for every client.

Therapies may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and experiential therapies.

Partial Hospitalization Programs

After completing an inpatient program, many patients transition into a day/night treatment program. This is otherwise known as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). This type of treatment program offers on-site counseling, support groups, and educational lectures.

Patients don’t live at the treatment center for PHPs. Instead, they can live at home and attend PHP on their assigned hours and days. Typically, patients are expected to commit to anywhere from 4 to 8 hours of therapy each day.

This is a great option for those who aren’t looking to fully commit to an inpatient rehab program. Partial hospitalization programs can be used as a step-down treatment after residency or as the sole program for minor addictions. It’s also great for those who may have work, familial obligations, or other responsibilities.

Outpatient Programs

Most recovering drug and alcohol abusers hesitate to get help because they aren’t able to commit to treatment. It can often be the case where other responsibilities may make it difficult to get the help they need and deserve. In these situations, the best option is to choose an outpatient rehab program, which can provide the support you need for ongoing recovery.

There are three types of outpatient rehabilitation programs: standard programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), both in-person and virtual.

  1. With standard programs, there is only a limited time requirement, as it is a form of short-term rehabilitation.
  2. With an IOPpatients commit to at least 9 hours of work each week.
  3. With an IOPpatients commit to at least 9 hours of work each week.

Addiction Statistics

Garden Grove is no stranger to substance abuse. The Orange County Health Care Agency
Reported in 2022 that drug and alcohol-related mortality has generally been rising since 2012, with the most dramatic rise from 2019 to 2020 attributed to an increase in drug-related deaths.

When accounting for all the substances involved in a drug or alcohol-related death, alcohol and opioids are most frequently present. In fact, there was a 45% increase in the number of deaths involving opioids from 2019 to 2020.

Drug addiction is not a problem someone can deal with on their own; it’s crucial to get professional help before it kills you. Whether it’s you or a loved one struggling, please know you are not alone. There is growth to be taken from pain. However, you have to take the first step in order to head down the road to recovery.
