MHN Insurance

Here at Northbound Treatment, we understand that the cost of staying at a substance abuse rehabilitation center is a large burden to be placed on an individual. Our team is here to provide understanding on the ways available to cover the costs of your treatments and what we can do to help lift the burden.

There are three different routes individuals can take to pay for treatment. The first option is always private pay. By paying out of pocket, someone doesn’t have to go through other sources to be able to be approved for rehab. It poses the least amount of chances for being denied treatment based on the cost. The second option is applying for scholarships we have available thanks to our many sponsors and generous donations. This is the option we cannot guarantee to everyone because of the limited funds we are able to give away. The final option is working with your insurance provider to figure out what costs are covered by your policy. This could determine whether your entire treatment can be paid for, of if you are only able to receive partial financial assistance.

Does Your Provider Cover You?

Substance abuse treatment does not come at a small price, and most individuals having to go through the process are not aware that their insurance provider can cut down the cost of treatment immensely. Here at Coastal Detox, our trained specialists will review your coverage plan and provide more information on the amount of financial assistance you are able to receive from your insurance company.

MHN Insurance Benefits

Also known as the Mental Health Network, MHNet is a health insurance provider that has been designed specifically for individuals who are seeking treatment for their substance abuse disorders. By paying an annual fee for their services, MHNet is able to help cover the partial or entire cost of policyholders’ treatments and therapies depending on which plan they have.

When looking for financial help for their substance abuse treatment, MHNet can provide extensive coverage. Services will vary from plan to plan, but MHNet is a great option when considering insurance policies for addiction treatment. It is important to understand the difference between regular health benefits and mental health benefits when choosing a plan with MHNet.

Getting information on how your substance abuse treatment can be covered by MHNet can seem like an overwhelming task. Fortunately, our Coastal Detox professionals have helped countless potential patients realize they are covered by their MHNet policy. All that is required is calling one of our expertly trained addiction specialists, and they will research your payment options for you!

Is In-Network Necessary?

There are many financial situations where in-network companies associated with MHN will be necessary to help fund the treatment. Choosing an in-network provider versus an out-of-network provider can increase the chance of being able to attend rehabilitation programs for the amount of time necessary the patient requires to fully recovery from the substance addiction.

Because it is an in-network company, our specialists here at Northbound are able to review your plan and quote a treatment payment amount based on your MHN insurance coverage. If you are required to pay a deductible, MHN may help to cut the cost for you because it is in-network.

Other Benefits of MHN

Not only is an MHNet policy beneficial to your stay in our treatment center, it is beneficial to your overall health and your life beyond rehab, as well. MHNet plans are there to benefit multiple areas of life in order to help policyholders to live their life to the fullest.

MHNet also offers resources on their website for their policyholders to gain more information health and wellness through their lifestyle video program “It Only Takes a Minute.” In these videos, they cover a range of topics such as “Improving Self-Esteem” and “Working Out Together.” These videos are conducted by MHNet to encourage their members to reach out to a healthy outlet when they might not be as content with their life as they could be.

Reviewing Your Insurance Policy

More people than ever are able to afford insurance, and we pride ourselves on being experts at navigating the ever-changing world of policies. With over 30 years of experience, we will be able to find every ounce of help you can receive from your policy.

At Northbound Treatment, an independent review of your MHN coverage will determine:

  • Which alcohol and drug rehabs you are eligible for
  • How long you can attend the program (30, 60, 90 days, etc.)
  • Which level of care will be covered

By allowing us to review what expenses your MHN plan will cover at our facility, our team at Northbound is able to identify all the factors to help you determine whether treatment is going to be affordable or not. This will help you understand how much you can expect to pay out of pocket for treatments.

Coverage for Treatment

When it comes to insurance coverage, different factors can play into an individual’s amount they are required to pay. Some of these factors can include the state or country, the type of detox or treatment program, the length of stay and much more.

In order to be qualified for coverage for the treatment, MHNet-authorized physicians must evaluate the health of the individual that believes they are in need of substance abuse treatment. They will then report back to MHNet their results and from there, the individual will be pre-authorized for treatment if the physician deems it necessary to their health.  When it comes to insurance coverage, different factors can play into an individual’s amount they are required to pay. Some of these factors can include the state or country, the type of detox or treatment program, the length of stay and much more.

Coverage for Detox

Because substance abuse disorders are so serious, an individual going through substance addiction cannot rid their body of the substance all at once. Detoxification is the medical process of slowly weaning an addicted individual off of the substance they have been abusing. Over time, this process completely eliminates the drugs or alcohol from the patient’s body.

During this process, the patient will experience physical and mental symptoms called “withdrawal symptoms.” The symptoms can be very painful and include things like increased heart rates, profuse sweating and even seizures in some cases. These can be so severe that around the clock medical care will be needed in order to ensure the patient’s safety and health, and this is what the majority of your MHN insurance policy will be needed to cover.

Once this process has been completed, the treated patient will be transferred over to a rehabilitation facility to begin professionally recommended treatments for their addiction disorders. Not everyone’s detox services will be 100% covered by their MHNet plan. MHNet does not cover inpatient detox, but a portion of a patient’s outpatient medical detox can by covered by certain plans with MHNet.

Coverage for Mental Health

Mental health disorders affect nearly half of American adults during their lifetime. Because this number is so high, treatment centers around the United States are seeing an influx of mental health disorder patients. In order to receive proper care and treatment, coverage for mental health treatment is extremely important to have access to within your insurance company.

There is a good chance that when someone is diagnosed with a substance abuse disorder they are also dual-diagnosed with a mental health disorder, as well. MHNet takes that into consideration with developing their coverage plans because they understand individuals, more often than not, must be treated for both. In most cases, MHNet covers these treatments as essential health benefits or even medically necessary treatments.

Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Coverage

There are two different types of addiction treatment. The most notable is inpatient treatment where the patient is required to stay at the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the recovery process. The other is outpatient treatment where an individual is still immersed in daily life, like attending school or work, while attending treatments. Whether a potential patient is admitted into an inpatient or outpatient treatment program will depend on his or her medical and mental status.

After meeting your deductible, MHN will cover the remaining cost towards your treatments within the center. Deductibles can vary but most are around $2,500 per year for MHN.
