Northbound Tackles Ethics, 12 Steps at C.O.R.E. Conference.

Northbound executives Mike Neatherton, Mike Early, and Paul Alexander will present at the 4th Annual Clinical Overview of the Recovery Experience (CORE) Conference. Neatherton and Early are teaming up with Chico West from Gaston House and delving into the “Ethical and Therapeutic Dilemmas and Pitfalls Over the Past 70 Years in Treating Addiction.” Their presentation will focus on the continued value and importance of the principles of the 12 steps as an essential tool for recovery, as well as the importance of an integrated clinical approach to treatment and use of evidence-based therapies. Neatherton will also discuss the relationship of a healthy culture on treatment outcomes, and the necessity of creating an organizational climate that provides the best opportunity for clients to acquire a sense of motivation for change. Alexander joined by Bob Ferguson of Jaywalker Lodge and Sherri Layton of La Hacienda Treatment Center for a roundtable will discuss “Ethics Perspectives in Addiction Treatment.” They will discuss ethical concerns in how addiction treatment is marketed, how treatment centers connect with potential clients and their families, and will look at how treatment providers can remain ethical in an evolving and dynamic environment. The CORE Conference will be held July 10-13, 2016 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Amelia Island, Florida.
