Aftercare Monitoring

Northbound provides support through every stage of early recovery. From detox through continued support, we help individuals develop a healthy and sober lifestyle by assisting outside within and outside the supervised treatment environment.

Our aftercare program eases the transition back into the real world after treatment. Treatment is after all, just the beginning of the recovery process. Our discharge planning process ensures that clients have considered the challenges they face when they leave treatment and have a plan of action set in place.

Types of Aftercare

12 Step Meetings

At Northbound’s headquarters, individuals who stay in the local area often attend local 12 step meetings. These groups are based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), a recovery-based program that has helped millions of people overcome their addictions and build fulfilling lives in recovery.

Work Exchange Program

Clients have the opportunity to work at Northbound after they have completed treatment. During this time, they can study to become a licensed addiction counselor and help new clients through the recovery process.

Sober Living

Sober living offers a safe and supportive living environment for people who’ve recently finished treatment. These facilities require clients to remain abstinent from all mind-altering drugs during their stay and provide regular drug screenings, holding them accountable and empowering them to stay proactive in their recovery.

Relapse: Failure or an Opportunity for a Stronger Recovery?

At Northbound, we recognize that relapse is a part of recovery for many people. We offer assistance to clients who’ve relapsed and help them back their lives back on track.

After a relapse, clients are steered towards:

  • Relapse prevention groups
  • 12-Step and self-help groups
  • Outpatient meetings

Aftercare Programs Are Proven To Be Effective

Northbound connects alumni with effective therapeutic resources following their discharge. Research shows that people who continue counseling after treatment demonstrate a higher success rate of staying sober long-term than those who don’t.

It’s vital to have a strong support network after one completes treatment.
Northbound’s aftercare services offer clients a chance to stay plugged into the local recovery community and build lasting relationships with others who following the same path. Through participating in aftercare, clients experience a smooth transition into society after treatment and achieve long-term recovery from addiction.
