Residential Treatment Center in Orange County

According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), nearly 165 million people in the U.S. above the age of 12 used substances in the past month[1]. Around 140 million of those drank alcohol and 32 million used an illicit drug[1]. The same year, close to 20% of individuals over 12 used an illegal substance in the past year, which was higher than the two years prior[1].

Unfortunately, Orange County and the state of California aren’t exceptions to this public health crisis. In the past couple of decades, the region has seen about a 50% increase in drug- and alcohol-related overdose deaths[2]. An estimated 45% of overdose deaths in California in 2018 involved opioids, with upwards of 2,400 fatalities[3].

For many struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, participating in a residential treatment program is a vital component of successful recovery. Are you or a loved one suffering from substance abuse? If so, we encourage you to consider our fully equipped and integrated residential treatment centers in Orange County, California. Residential Treatment Centers: What to Expect

The team at Northbound Treatment is committed to making your stay with us as comfortable as possible. From the minute you step through the doors at one of our residential treatment centers in Orange County to your last day of inpatient rehab, you’ll have the support and guidance of a dedicated care team.

On your first day at the treatment facility, you’ll be welcomed by staff who understand the fear, nervousness, and excitement you might be experiencing. After greeting you, one of our intake specialists will give you a tour and begin orientation. They’ll explain our various policies and programs and address any questions or concerns you have to help calm your nerves.

After that, we’ll help you settle into your room. Most likely, you’ll room with one or two other people in one of our dorm-style residences. Next, you’ll meet some of your peers receiving treatment services at our rehab center too, along with your care team.

Your team will assess your current condition, the nature of your alcohol addiction or substance abuse, and your personal goals. They’ll also evaluate your mental health to determine whether you have a co-occurring mental health condition that could result in dual diagnosis.

At this point, your care team will work with you on developing a personalized addiction treatment plan that suits your needs and situation. Then you’ll get a dedicated daily schedule outlining the various therapy sessions, group counseling, and other activities you’ll participate in. Residential treatment is usually at least 28 days, but depending on the severity of a person’s addiction, they might stay at the rehab facility for up to 90 days or sometimes even longer.

Our In Vivo® Approach

At Northbound Treatment, we realize that recovery from substance use is a life-long journey. After completing alcohol or drug rehab, clients must face the realities of life at home, spending time with friends and family, tending to responsibilities, and working a job or going to school. Our In Vivo® approach encompasses our deeply rooted philosophy that individuals are most successful when they learn to navigate and adapt to the world they live in.

The approach to residential treatment was designed to help recovering addicts adjust to “normal” life outside of a rehab center. Though living in a structured, secure setting at first is often key to long-term sober living, clients also need to be able to interact with their communities and function as a member of society. That’s why our residential rehab programs implement activities like group barbecues, surfing at one of the local beaches, and visiting the grocery store.

Our In Vivo® model also works to reacclimate patients with social media, cell phones, cars, and other “real life” dynamics. This helps them become more independent, confident, and ready to return home when the time is right. The idea is to set you up for successful addiction recovery in an environment that’s realistic about the challenges and temptations addicts face in the real world and prepare you to effectively handle various situations. Ultimately, Northbound Treatment’s In Vivo® approach to residential rehab is about embracing community, helping others, finding emotional balance, becoming spiritually fit, and learning to be happy without drugs or alcohol.

Recovering addicts who’ve experienced trauma require an integrated treatment approach, which is where our trauma program comes in. With compassion and understanding, it focuses on identifying and treating psychological trauma alongside addiction.

The Full Continuum of Care

Residential rehab is part of the full continuum of care that we offer here at Northbound Treatment. In most cases, patients transfer to a residential treatment center in Orange County after completing detox. Following inpatient rehab, the next step is outpatient treatment, in which clients continue services while living at home. After completing the outpatient rehab program, many enroll in aftercare services, a less-intensive program designed to reduce the chance of relapse and help individuals adjust to sober living after rehab.
