Rafael came to Northbound in 2017 with over 10 years of experience working in the behavioral healthcare field. He currently serves as a Clinical Case Manager in our Men’s Core residential program.

Rafael received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Prior to working in treatment, Rafael previously worked in the field of Communicable Disease Prevention, providing education and awareness to the community in Tucson, Arizona. He felt the need to work more closely with people and refocused his efforts towards the behavioral healthcare field.

At Northbound, Rafael helps his clients to understand the disease of addiction, develop effective coping skills to prevent relapse and find a sense of purpose. A Tucson native, he enjoys spending time with his family here and traveling back home to visit Arizona.
