Melissa Hasin, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, received her Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. As an MFT Intern, Melissa was the sole provider of substance abuse education at McFadden Intermediate School in Santa Ana, while also leading group and individual sessions at the Turning Point Center for Families and the WISEPlace Women’s Shelter. Since becoming licensed in 2015, Melissa has worked as a therapist at dual-diagnosis treatment centers, assisting individuals who are recovering from multiple addictions and trauma. In addition to being EMDR trained, Melissa specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Experiential Therapy, mood disorders, mindfulness techniques, and substance abuse. Melissa wholeheartedly believes in creating a safe and compassionate therapeutic space to help her clients recover. During a mindfulness group session, for example, Melissa occasionally improvises musically on the cello to create a peaceful atmosphere for meditation. Melissa believes it is vital to live a balanced life. Apart from Melissa’s professional work as a therapist and cellist, her interests include swimming, bike riding on the boardwalk, and spending leisure time with family.
