Alex brings a high level of dedication, passion, and empathy to his work as a Case Manager in our Men’s Core residential program. He has an explicit understanding about local behavioral healthcare — prior to coming to Northbound, Alex worked as a Treatment Technician at Joshua House, a residential treatment facility, in Costa Mesa. There, he was able to share his own experience of recovery and provide support and encouragement to clients. Since joining us, Alex has demonstrated an understanding for helping educate clients about the disease of addiction, develop effective coping skills to prevent relapse and inspire themselves to find a sense of purpose.
Alex received his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from UC Santa Cruz in 2005, and he is currently enrolled in education programs that will allow him to expand his capability for helping others struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Alex’s aspirations in the field extend from his own struggles and triumphs toward establishing sustained recovery from substance use disorder, and how it was achieved through support, encouragement and education during addiction treatment.
