Dr. McCauley has worked extensively with our clinical team in developing and facilitating Northbound’s family program for the past seven years. His expertise in supporting families through education on the neurological roots of addiction, relapse prevention, and addressing the damage done by addiction have strengthened Northbound’s services and ability to help clients reach our mission of celebrating one year of continuous sobriety.
In his new position as Senior Recovery Advisor, Dr. McCauley enhances his impact at Northbound by assisting with clinical development, staff training, collaborating with national partners, and conducting interventions.
As part of his new position, he also contributes monthly blog posts for our website, diving deep into cutting edge scientific developments within the field of addiction, as well as his own firsthand experience with recovery.
Dr. McCauley is an internationally-renowned addiction specialist with nearly 20 years of experience in the behavioral healthcare field. He has served in directorial positions at various treatment programs and conducts educational lectures across the globe on the neurobiology of addiction. He is the co-founder of the Institute for Addiction Study and wrote and directed the award-winning addiction documentary, Pleasure Unwoven.
