As I was reading this morning, I found a quote that really hit home! It stated, “Addiction, on its most basic level, is an attempt to control and fulfill this desire for wholeness, and in the beginning it feels as if it is working. BUT, in addiction we get the sensation of wholeness without the reality of wholeness.”
This was me for so many years! A perfect way to sum it up was I had an over inflated ego with an underestimated sense of self-worth! Pretty amazing what happens when you surrender and get some humility!
