I want to personally thank you for visiting our website. Northbound is the culmination of many years of dedicated individuals designing the best possible approach for treating addiction and co-occurring disorders. We take this work very seriously, and honestly consider it a privilege to work with you and your loved ones.

I’ve dedicated my life and career to serving others seeking a journey to recovery.

I wake up every day asking myself, “How can I best contribute to assisting another person in finding the miracle of recovery?”

I was fortunate enough as a young man to find recovery from heroin addiction. The reclamation of my life, spirituality, family, and health resulted in my dedication to this work.

As a clinician in the field, I’ve had the opportunity to watch many young men and women transform their lives. In particular, I’ve helped to guide many young men on the journey to recovery in finding their self-identity and self-esteem. Through designing the first collegiate-based residential treatment program in the late ’90s, I’ve accompanied many families and young adults from active addiction to long-term recovery. Seeing those individuals celebrate their life—a life full of responsibilities, family, and joy—is the reason I show up, every day.

My dedication to you and every person who enters our addiction recovery process is to give 110% in assisting you in finding your path. Recovery isn’t easy, and it is certainly challenging. But I can attest that with professionals here at Northbound guiding the way, recovery is absolutely achievable. We will be with you every step of the way.

Let me tell you a story.

My name is Mike Neatherton. I’m the Chairman of Northbound Treatment Services®. I’m also a man in long-term recovery from the disease of alcoholism.

My thoughts are shared with you through the lens of a guy who knows the pain of addiction, the benefits of treatment, and the unconditional love of a father.

My youngest daughter is a recovering alcoholic who spent more than a year in treatment at Northbound. Her Northbound addiction recovery process was transformative, propelling her into a life full of happiness, health, and purpose. It was also challenging and, at times, incredibly painful for her, for me, and for our family. Welcome to life in sobriety. Her Northbound story is not unique. It’s a story told by countless young adults living their lives free from active addiction. It can be your story as well.

At Northbound we exist to transform lives. Period. I love the clarity of our core purpose. I love the culture we’ve created. I love the people with whom I’m fortunate to work. I love watching our clients begin to acquire motivation for change. It’s what gets me out of bed each morning and reignites the passion for the work I’m called to do, love to do, and have been doing for over 35 years.

My commitment to you on behalf of the entire Northbound organization is simply this: We will strive to create an experience you’ll love. We will assist you in realizing one year of continuous sobriety. We will tell you the unvarnished truth. We will embark on this journey with you and be with you every step of the way. Remember this—you are not alone.

Perhaps our paths will cross. In the meantime, I wish you all the best and encourage you to take whatever steps are necessary for recapturing the peace and joy that you deserve.

With great respect,
Mike Neatherton, Chairman
