How we help
California-only telehealth IOP
Washington and out-of-state residents are not eligible for HomeBound. There is no in-person IOP alternative in our network.
HomeBound is Northbound's virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) for California residents — including California. Secure video sessions deliver nine to twelve hours of weekly programming: groups, individual therapy, family involvement, and relapse-prevention planning from your home.
Virtual IOP is not a lighter version of treatment — it is the same evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care) adapted for telehealth. California clients maintain employment, parenting, and community ties while meeting clinical standards online.
There is no in-person IOP alternative in our network. Higher levels of care — detox, residential, PHP — require on-site campuses in Garden Grove or Newport Beach. HomeBound is how Northbound extends intensive outpatient across every California county.
After on-site treatment in Orange County, HomeBound lets you recover in California without transferring records to a new provider. Alumni programming and aftercare planning keep you connected to Northbound long after formal IOP ends.
We are DHCS licensed #300661CP, Joint Commission accredited, and in-network with 15+ major insurance plans. Call (866) 311-0003 — admissions is available 24/7 for California families.

Local context
Virtual IOP as the California-wide outpatient hub
State hub pages exist because families search ‘IOP California’ — we clarify that Northbound’s answer is telehealth, not a chain of evening clinics.
Dual-diagnosis care continues online with the same emphasis on trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders seen in our residential program.
Graduates join alumni programming that spans statewide events and digital community.
California families often ask how Northbound differs from other providers — we concentrate on-site detox and residential at one Garden Grove campus, PHP at Newport Beach, and virtual IOP statewide rather than spreading thin across many small sites.
Areas we serve
Northbound’s clinical campuses are in Orange County and San Diego, but we admit clients from every region of California — Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Sacramento, the Central Valley, and the Inland Empire. Virtual IOP (HomeBound) extends structured care into your home county after higher levels of care.
