Transitioning out of residential treatment is exciting and invigorating – life’s full potential is at your fingertips and often clients can’t wait to get going! It is important to recognize that risk runs high during this time as newly learned recovery skills are put to the test in the real world. Temptations increase, structure decreases, and the danger of relapse intensifies. Northbound’s day treatment program for addiction and mental health disorders supports clients in building their independence while still benefiting from the support, accountability, and structure of treatment. In a residential treatment program, clients remain at the center 24 hours a day; in Northbound’s day treatment program, clients attend counseling, groups and therapeutic services for a minimum of 12 hours per week, four days per week, and spend the rest of their time building their increasingly independent recovery lifestyle. Our clients further develop their understanding of addiction and apply coping strategies while working through challenges in a safe, supportive environment.

Why Might a Day Treatment for Addiction Program Work for Me or a Loved One?

Northbound assists clients in choosing the right treatment program for their needs. A day treatment program for addiction may be beneficial if you or your loved one has completed a residential treatment program or is ready to implement a sober lifestyle without continuous supervision. Day treatment empowers participants to return home in the evening and utilize new and enhanced skills while tending to other responsibilities and gradually transitioning into a more autonomous, long-term lifestyle. If you are ready to further your independence but are still looking for structured daily support to help you stay focused and work through challenges that arise, Northbound’s day treatment program may be a good fit for you or your loved one.

Am I or a Loved One Eligible for Day Treatment?

In order to be eligible for day treatment, you must be finished with the detox process, live within a reasonable distance from the clinical office, and desire additional support in early recovery. It is also beneficial to have a stable and supportive environment to return to in the evening, whether this is your home, or an approved sober living facility.
