Does UMR Cover Alcohol and Drug Rehab?

When we begin to consider any medical treatment, one of the first thoughts that come to mind is what the cost will be for us. This is especially true when considering intensive treatment options such as addiction treatment programs. Trying to figure out what your insurance company will cover can be a confusing puzzle to try and solve. Rest assured, at Northbound treatment, we can help you navigate this process.

If you have UMR for health coverage, you may know that UMR is a third-party administrator (TPA). This means that UMR provides services for a different insurance company with a working contract. UMR has contracts with many insurance companies, making it the largest TPA in the United States.

UMR offers individualized care options to those it provides coverage for. It is important to note that since they have a variety of contracts, you may find that your coverage has slight differences from other UMR options.

Northbound is a UMR alcohol rehab in Southern California. We provide a variety of addiction treatment programs, including detoxification, inpatient residential rehab, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, and family therapy. Call (866)568-2722 to learn more.

What Types of Treatment Does UMR Cover for Rehab?

When you are ready to learn more about your UMR coverage, there are a few options that you have available to you. The first would be to use the UMR website to view your insurance policy. If you are unable to do this, the other option would be to call the number on the back of your ID card and speak with a UMR representative.

Choose to call the number on the back of your ID card. The representative will be able to give you specific information about what you can expect your out-of-pocket cost to be for the various addiction treatment options. If you need assistance finding a treatment program, they can provide you with providers in the network near you. UMR plan options would allow you to receive coverage from an out-of-network provider. Again, UMR insurance rehab coverage will vary depending on your plan.

UMR is known to cover behavioral health treatment, which includes drug and alcohol treatment. This includes detoxification, inpatient rehab treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Additionally, behavioral health treatment can include mental health treatment as well.

Detoxification is a common starting point for individuals who are struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. Our brains change how they work when we misuse drugs and alcohol. This can lead to physical and mental health struggles when we stop using. Detox programs are designed to give our bodies to adjust to the changes that occur during withdrawal.

Depending on the substances you are addicted to and the severity of your addiction, you may be at risk of developing dangerous side effects such as seizures and withdrawal. This is why individuals are not recommended to detox on their own.

Inpatient rehab treatment programs can be an excellent treatment option for individuals at the beginning of their recovery and those who are unable to maintain their sobriety in outpatient treatment programs. These programs can range from 1 to 3 months, depending on the severity of your addiction. Some Orange County inpatient rehab programs can provide you with treatment for mental health concerns you may be struggling with.

Partial Hospitalization Programs can continue providing you with the structure for your day. These programs can vary in length; however, they typically range from 6- 8 hours of treatment several days a week before you return home at the end of the day. You will continue to build on your relapse prevention skills and receive treatment for mental health concerns if appropriate.

Intensive outpatient programs utilize group treatment as their primary form of treatment. Individual sessions may be required weekly in addition to your groups. Your treatment program should be unique to your needs and can range from 15 to 25 hours each week of group therapy. IOP programs can run in the mornings or the evenings, allowing you to return to your responsibilities during the day.

Northbound is an addiction treatment program that is in-network with UMR. We provide a variety of treatment programs, including inpatient and outpatient treatment options. For individuals who are struggling with mental health concerns, we have specialized treatment options that can be added to your treatment schedule. How Long Will UMR Insurance Cover Drug and Alcohol Rehab?

A common concern that individuals have before beginning a treatment program is the length of time their insurance will cover. The simple answer is that your stay will vary based on your plan. UMR’s insurance plans can be quite different because of the options you can choose when selecting your plan. While that answer is not specific, what we have observed is that UMR often responds to the treatment recommendation and will cover what the medical professionals request.

This is good news for those who have UMR as their insurance provider. This means that UMR understands that your treatment recommendation will likely differ from others. As treatment providers, we appreciate this approach because we know that various factors go into your treatment recommendation.

While this is promising information for those of you who are interested in drug and alcohol treatment, please know that there is a possibility that UMR will not cover the length of time recommended by your provider. If this does occur, you can get information about financing options and alternative resources that could help you.

Northbound’s UMR Alcohol Rehab is Here for You

Northbound is an inpatient treatment and detox program in Southern California. We work with individuals who struggle with alcohol and drug abuse. We can provide you with detoxification, inpatient residential rehab, a partial hospitalization program, and an intensive outpatient program.

We work with individuals who struggle with mental health concerns. If you are struggling with a mental health concern as well as an addiction, your chances of a successful recovery increase if you receive treatment for both concerns at the same time. Common mental health struggles include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and trauma.

Our detoxification program provides you with the medical supervision and support needed in the beginning stages of your recovery. When you continue on to our inpatient rehab program, you will begin engaging in group therapy, individual therapy, educational groups, and specialized treatment.

Partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient programs are considered outpatient treatment because you will not be staying in our facilities overnight like you would with a residential rehab program. Partial hospitalization programs tend to have a long day of therapy, whereas intensive outpatient programs usually require three hours of group therapy multiple times each week. Both options can include mental health treatment if that is something you need.

The Northbound family program is designed to help you and your loved ones find a way forward. Our family program is designed to give you knowledge of addition and recovery as well as unhealthy relationship patterns. This program will include educational services, group sessions, and private family sessions.

Northbound is the ideal addiction treatment provider in Southern California. Having several treatment programs gives you the opportunity to have seamless care in an environment that you are comfortable with.
